From June 2 to 4, 2025, FRERE Chemical Co., Ltd. participated in Baku Energy Week / Caspian Oil & Gas in Baku, Azerbaijan. As one of the influential energy industry events in the Caspian region, the exhibition brought together professionals and companies from oil and gas production, natural gas processing, petrochemical engineering, industrial water treatment, equipment maintenance, and EPC services.

At this exhibition, FRERE Chemical focused on presenting a wide range of filtration products for the oil & gas, chemical, and energy industries, with particular emphasis on high-flow filter cartridges, metal filter cartridges, gas-liquid coalescing filter cartridges, liquid-liquid coalescing filter cartridges, and industrial pre-filtration cartridges. These products are designed to meet different operating conditions and provide reliable filtration support for customers in demanding industrial applications.

Reliable Filter Cartridges for Oil & Gas Applications

Filtration in the oil and gas industry is not limited to the simple removal of solid particles. In upstream produced water treatment, injection water systems, fracturing flowback treatment, midstream natural gas processing, pipeline transportation, downstream refining, and petrochemical production, filtration performance directly affects equipment protection, operational stability, product quality, and maintenance cost.

In real operating environments, process fluids may contain suspended solids, rust, colloids, fine sand, oil droplets, water droplets, corrosion products, catalyst fines, and chemical residues. If the filtration accuracy, flow capacity, pressure resistance, and material compatibility are not properly selected, downstream pumps, valves, heat exchangers, compressors, membrane systems, and precision equipment may suffer from blockage, wear, unstable operation, or unexpected shutdowns.

Therefore, during the exhibition, FRERE Chemical introduced a practical filtration selection concept to customers: filter cartridges should be selected according to actual working conditions, including fluid type, contaminant characteristics, filtration rating, flow rate, pressure, temperature, chemical compatibility, and replacement cycle. Instead of relying on a single universal product, FRERE provides suitable cartridge structures and materials for different industrial scenarios.

High-Flow Filter Cartridges for Large-Scale Industrial Water Treatment

Large-flow water treatment systems are widely used in oil & gas and energy industries, such as circulating water treatment, produced water reuse, injection water pre-treatment, condensate filtration, and pre-filtration before RO or UF systems. These applications usually require filter cartridges to maintain stable pressure drop under high flow rates while reducing frequent replacement and downtime.

FRERE’s HF150 high-flow filter cartridge adopts a large-diameter structure of 6 inches / 150 mm. Its large filtration area and high dirt-holding capacity help reduce the number of cartridges required and simplify system operation. The single open-end design also improves installation and replacement efficiency.

For oil and gas customers, the value of high-flow filter cartridges is not only reflected in large flow capacity. More importantly, they serve as a protective barrier for the entire system, reducing the impact of particles on downstream equipment, extending equipment service life, and lowering maintenance frequency.

Coalescing Filter Cartridges for Gas-Liquid and Liquid-Liquid Separation

In natural gas processing, petrochemical systems, oil-water separation, and process liquid purification, many contaminants are not large solid particles, but fine droplets or dispersed liquid phases. Traditional settling methods are often inefficient, especially when droplet size is small, flow rate fluctuates, or installation space is limited. In these cases, coalescing filter cartridges are particularly important.

FRERE’s gas-liquid coalescing filter cartridges are suitable for gas stream purification in natural gas, petrochemical, and chemical processes. They help remove fine liquid droplets from gas streams and protect downstream equipment such as compressors, valves, meters, and pipelines from liquid carryover.

FRERE’s liquid-liquid coalescing filter cartridges are designed for applications such as oil-water separation, hydrocarbon dehydration, oil removal from water, and removal of entrained liquid phases from amine or caustic systems. Their function is not simply to intercept impurities, but to allow small dispersed droplets to merge into larger droplets inside the filter media, making subsequent phase separation more efficient and stable.

In oil and gas applications, coalescing filter cartridges can help reduce downstream contamination, protect pumps and process equipment, improve product quality, and reduce the load on downstream polishing or separation systems.

Metal Filter Cartridges for High-Temperature, High-Pressure, and Complex Conditions

In refining, petrochemical production, high-temperature liquid filtration, catalyst recovery, and corrosive working conditions, ordinary polymer filter cartridges may not meet requirements for temperature resistance, mechanical strength, or chemical compatibility.

FRERE provides a series of metal filter cartridges, including titanium filter cartridges, pleated stainless steel sintered fiber felt cartridges, pleated stainless steel mesh cartridges, and five-layer stainless steel sintered mesh cartridges. These products are suitable for applications that require higher mechanical strength, high-temperature resistance, pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and cleanable or reusable structures.

For example, stainless steel sintered fiber felt cartridges provide a stable porous structure and strong mechanical support. The pleated design increases the effective filtration area, while the gradient pore structure helps improve dirt-holding capacity and filtration stability.

For process fluids containing rigid particles, catalyst fines, rust, or high-temperature contaminants, metal filter cartridges can provide more reliable structural strength and a longer operating cycle.

Non-Metal Filter Cartridges for Pre-Filtration and Precision Filtration

In addition to high-flow cartridges, coalescing cartridges, and metal cartridges, FRERE also offers various non-metal filter cartridges for different industrial liquid filtration processes.

For example, PP melt-blown filter cartridges can be used for chemical raw material pre-treatment, electroplating solution filtration, coating pre-treatment, and general particle removal. They are often used to capture larger particles and protect downstream precision filter cartridges.

Other cartridge materials, such as nylon, PES, PTFE, and polyester, can be selected according to filtration accuracy, temperature resistance, hydrophilicity, chemical resistance, and solvent compatibility.

For oil & gas and petrochemical customers, these filter cartridges are widely used in process liquid pre-filtration, chemical filtration, solvent purification, safety filtration before RO or UF systems, and equipment protection. Together with high-flow cartridges, metal cartridges, and coalescing cartridges, they form a complete multi-stage filtration system from coarse filtration to precision filtration and separation protection.

On-Site Communication with Customers

During the exhibition, the FRERE Chemical team had in-depth discussions with customers from Azerbaijan and surrounding regions. Customers were not only interested in cartridge specifications and filtration ratings, but also paid close attention to pressure drop changes, service life, material compatibility, replacement compatibility, sample testing, and long-term operating costs.

Based on different application requirements, the FRERE team introduced how to select suitable filter cartridges according to actual working conditions.

For natural gas processing systems, the focus should be on gas-liquid coalescing efficiency and protection of downstream compressors.

For produced water and water reuse systems, attention should be paid to suspended solids, oil content, colloidal contaminants, and protection of downstream membrane systems.

For refining or high-temperature process liquid applications, metal filter cartridges should be considered for their temperature resistance, pressure resistance, and corrosion resistance.

Through face-to-face communication, FRERE Chemical gained a better understanding of local market demands in the Caspian region and further strengthened its connection with customers in the oil & gas, chemical, energy, and water treatment industries.

Providing Stable and Cost-Effective Filtration Solutions for the Energy Industry

FRERE Chemical has always focused on the real operating needs of industrial customers. The value of a filter cartridge is not only reflected in the cartridge itself, but also in its protective role within the entire system.

A properly selected filter cartridge can help reduce blockage, stabilize pressure drop, extend equipment maintenance intervals, reduce unexpected downtime, and lower overall operating costs.

Through its participation in Baku Energy Week, FRERE Chemical further enhanced its brand presence in Azerbaijan and the Caspian energy market. In the future, FRERE will continue to focus on high-performance filter cartridge products, engineering-based selection support, and practical application experience to provide reliable, efficient, and economical filtration and separation solutions for global customers.
